Research Topic

The main research contents of the Volcanology & Volatiles Laboratory are: 1) Geochemistry of volatiles, stable isotopes, and noble gas analysis to understand volcanic or plate tectonic activities. 2) Measurement of the carbon dioxide flux in the volcanic or fault zones where geological disasters can occur, and monitoring the carbon dioxide discharged from areas with high permeability through δ13C analysis. 3) Mantle geochemistry to identify the origin of magma through the analysis of volatiles of igneous rocks. The goal of our research group is to understand the interaction between crust, mantle and atmosphere through these studies.
