Usage
EC1 mooring platform installed between Dokdo and Ulleung Island (37.33°N, 131.45E) at a depth of about 2,300m has been operated since November 1996, in order to observe the temporal variability of the deep flow. This has been managed by a subsurface mooring method, which takes into account the measurement time interval and battery capacity of equipment attached to the mooring line, and is recovered and re-released every year. The 23rd mooring observation is currently underway as of September 22, 2020. The observation device is equipped with RCM and Aquadop at three standard water depths at 400, 1400, 2200m, and some periods were equipped with ADCP, SBE 39, and SBE-37. The measurement time interval for each equipment was 15 minutes, 30 minutes, or 60 minutes, most of which were observed within 60 minutes. Since 2017, dissolved oxygen sensors were added to the 1400m and 2250m.
